Wine Advocate rating: 95..."The 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is jaw-dropping good! Made from 92% Grenache and the rest a mix of permitted varieties, aged all in concrete tank, it boasts fabulous notes of truffles, damp earth, wild herbs and both kirsch and darker berry fruit. Full-bodied, beautifully concentrated and even voluptuous, it covers the mouth with fruit, has sweet tannin and a hard-to-resist personality. Drink this beauty over the coming decade or longer.
Enough can’t be said about the quality coming from this tiny estate, and proprietor Philippe Bravey is fashioning one of the top traditionally made Châteauneuf du Papes out there. Located all in the northern part of the appellation, with 13 acres spread between the lieux-dits of Cabrieres and La Gardiole, he makes a single Châteauneuf du Pape and two high quality Côtes du Rhône (his Côtes du Rhônes are from vines located around his estate). Partial destemming, fermentation in stainless steel and concrete, and aging all in concrete are the name of the game here."
