Talmard 2013 Macon Chardonnay, Burgundy, France
Wine buyer's notes: "Fermented in stainless steel but appearing almost leesy in the aromatics, Talmard, I suspected, had been resting on its yeast cells in tank, but I couldn't verify that online or with the importer. I inhaled its creamy apple, pear and citrus trio from a foot and a half away, and the fleshy entry on the palate led to a crisp close, brightening up all the fruit and extravagant textures. To me, it tasted far more expensive than its humble price, and that's the grail that we're always seeking. It's a perennial favorite from southern Burgundy."
